Chhava Movie Review: Vicky Kaushal’s Power-Packed Performance in This Historic Saga

Chhaava starring Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandana directed by Laxman Utekar is finally released now. Since its announcement, the movie has created immense buzz with its impressive action visuals and engaging trailers. As the movie hit the theatres, now, it’s time to determine whether the movie succeeds in meeting its expectations or not.

Synopsis of Chhaava

Chhaava is based on the Maratha warrior Sambhaji Maharaj and is an official adoption of the novel Chhaava written by Shivaji Sawant. The film opens with a scene where the Mughals are seen celebrating as Aurangzeb receives the news that the Maratha Kingdom has lost its leader “Shivaji Maharaj. However, their celebration turns into a shock with the arrival of Chhaava - Son of Shivaji “Sambhaji Maharaj”. Despite his short life, Chhaava became an undefeated warrior and gave a tough fight to Aurangzeb.

Chhaava Review

Chhaava was awesome throughout its run. However, some scenes failed to meet the audience's expectations. The first part of the movie is a bit off, as there were many jumping screenplays. The movie didn’t give you time to understand where the movie was and where it is now. This thing only bothers in the first part, but the second part seems controlled and impressive.

The action sequences of the film are engaging, and you will not move your eyeballs when watching this sequence. Though the movie gives more time to its action than story, which might not bother you if you want to watch an action-packed movie.

Background music is also appreciable, but some songs are a little off. And most importantly! You should be ready to see a shocking and emotional climax.

Performance review

Words for Vicky Kaushal as Chhaava are not limited, he has nailed it as Chhaava. Rashmika Mandana also does her best, but her dialogue delivery seems a bit off and could be better. Ashutosh Rana and Diana Penty also give their powerful performance. However, Akshaye Khanna as Aurangzeb has performed brilliantly. His acting will make you hate Aurangzeb's character more.

 Verdict

Chhaava starring Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandana does a great job of winning the audience’s heart. However, there might be some bothering things, but you can simply ignore them and enjoy the historic saga.
